After the Wicked on Sunday I went to Mount Trashmore and did part of a Spartan WOD and ran the stairs...my calves were sore for a couple days...gotta love DOMS. Monday I just ran about 3 easy miles and chose to go to tutoring Monday night instead of the normal track night. Wednesday I finally got to make it to NEW ENERGY POWER and the kids were as wonderful as always! :) Thursday, Crystle and I did our tempo run from Ice House and a group of us went to Abbey Road after the run, I always love hanging out with everyone post runs. Saturday is LONG RUN DAY!! At 7 am we met up at BadAss Coffee and off we went! Not only did Crystle and I do well on the workout, WE CRUSHED IT! Talk about an amazing run, we kept pace even on the trails, and we actually hit below the projected pace we set before the run! Each week Crystle and I are improving and it is noticeable. I really enjoy my long runs with Crystle; it is nice to have someone to talk to and joke around with during a 2 hour run. We ended up doing 14 miles! :)
Dennis put out his Endurance Project Athlete of the Month for October today and it was ME! That is really exciting to read Dennis's point of view about my training and progression. I have been working hard and listening to Dennis for the past 6 months. Patience is hard for me...and well most runners...you want to PR and get results NOW! Why would you want to wait? But I have, I have taken steps back in running and in life; stopped stressing over the little things and let myself be patient. It is hard, I still have trouble sometimes but I am improving. Joining DWEP was one of the best decisions I have made, the people in the group are amazing and supportive; not only when it comes to helping each other with running goals but also with personal goals. Check the link out for DWEP above and clink the link below to read Dennis's blog!
