A couple months ago I was flustered and wasn't being as positive as I usual...so I sat down and wrote a list. The list included my accomplishments, failures, and things I needed to work on. This is important to do, you should always strive to do more and to be more. So what is the point to this, well what have I done during my 23rd year?
First I am proud to say that I am now a Certified Personal Trainer and have a full time job in a field related to my degree. While I enjoy my job, it does not allow me to have enough money to move out of my parents house. I am a 24 year old college graduate that lives at home...while this frustrates me at times, I have come to realize that I am beyond lucky to have parents that let me live at home rent free so I can save money and figure out what I want to do with my life. Thank you to the best parents ever! I am currently trying to begin the process to get into the US Air Force; I really hope this works out, but if it doesn't then I have to figure out what to do next. During my 24th year of life my goal is to focus on a career (ideally Air Force) and move out within the next 6 months.
I have also come the realization that I have an amazing family that loves each other through thick and thin. I have become closer with my parents, cousins, and well the rest of my family over the past year and it is amazing. Anytime I see my cousins they run up to me and give me a huge hug! It is awesome that they love me so much, you never truly realize the impact young peoples lives; I am happy that I can be a positive influence on their lives.

During my 23rd year I have gained more meaningful friendships. While I have lost friends this year, I have also gained friends that are beyond amazing. When you have great friends, you are finally free to be exactly who you are...and over the past year I have come out of my shell. Being able to just be myself is amazing and being accepted for everything I am and am not is just, well, fantastic! I have also learned how to let myself connect emotionally to people. This has always been difficult for me, especially getting close to men. I always just assume that everyone will screw you over, while some people have proven me wrong this year a couple have proven me right. It is important not to let those people dictate how you live your life. Thank you to all of you that have played a HUGE role in my life and I am looking forward to building stronger friendships over the years. :)
Next up is my race recap! I took the dive this year and did a Spartan race...well 4 to be exact; 1 Super, 1 Beast, and 2 Sprints. I completed a half ironman (70.3), an Ultra Marathon, second marathon, and my very first 5K. This year I stepped out of my racing comfort zone and tried new distances and types of races. Dennis Welch is my amazing coach and he is great at reigning me in when I want to do every race. Dennis has coached me through several race distances and several types of races, right now we are focusing on Spartans! AROO!
This year I have truly learned to love and accept my body for everything it is capable of. I am able to do all these races and do them well. It is easy to forget that others cannot do these things. This is why I love being able to push for Team Hoyt and coach New Energy POWER!
Thank you to all of my family and friends that have been with me through all of my ups and downs over the past year, it is appreciated. I thought about listing family and friends names but there is no need, they all know who they are.
I hope you enjoyed my blog post, feel free to share or comment. :)
