Shamrock is in 4ish days and I am getting nervous. I know that I have trained with an amazing coach since October-ish. I have never had such a long training cycle and actually I have never trained this consistently for a race in my life...yet I still have my doubts like any runner. Before a race you are filled with what -ifs, what-if my stomach messes up, what-if my legs don't want to run fast, what-if I fall apart (26.2 miles is a long hike), etc. Even though I have ran a marathon before I am still nervous and I know that I cant let all the what-ifs fill my head and mess me up. No two marathons are the same and as the saying goes "you must forget your last marathon before you run another."
No matter what I will go out there are run this race, just being able to run the way I do is a gift that not everyone has. Some people can't run, so even just stepping out there is enough.
I have enjoyed the marathon training with DWEP and my amazing marathon partners, the journey getting to the starting line has made this marathon better than any race I have ever done before, not everyone is so lucky to have such a great group to train with.
Get ready to SHAMROCK ON!!! :)
